Interpreting in the School Environment

   (12-hour course, presented in 2 day format)



The biggest fallacy about interpretation is that all you need to know are two languages. But in order to be effective, the interpreter also needs to be highly bicultural and have an in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. In the world of education, which often employs a language all its own, the task of interpreting can even be more complicated.

Interpreting in the School Environment will enrich the interpreting skills of bilingual school staff and empower them to use the correct terminology when interpreting for Parent Teacher Conferences, Administrative Hearings (Expulsion Hearings), ELAC/DELAC meetings, school office scenarios and for other everyday school related situations.
